Sodium

sodium [mg/L]

Description:

Sodium chloride or NaCl is a salt. In freshwaters, sodium chloride should be absent or low, since atmospheric deposition and weather provide minor inputs to surface water. Elevated concentrations of sodium chloride are usually the result of roadway deicing that enters a river through runoff.
